US President Joe Biden's visit to Israel was reviewed on major American news sites, but did not star as the headline on various home pages.

American sites have chosen to post articles on issues such as inflation, which has reached a 40-year high, or the issue of abortions.

However, in the "Middle East" category, the visit won beautiful headlines.

The home page of the Washington Post website opens this morning (Thursday) an article about democratic cities within Republican states that are looking for ways to circumvent the revocation of the Roe Wade ruling and allow abortions even if state law forbids it.

The second article deals with the hearings of the House Committee investigating the attack on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021.

An article about Biden's visit to Israel appears below articles about the Minister of Finance and rising inflation.

The article deals with Biden's initial decision not to shake hands during the visit, due to Corona's concerns (an excuse that allowed him to avoid shaking hands with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman), and the fact that the president did not comply, especially during his visit to Yad Vashem. He hugged and kissed the Holocaust survivors who came to meet him.

The article wonders what Biden will do now when he faces Ben Salman, a controversial figure that the White House does not particularly like, and that on the meeting with him Biden received a bit of criticism from home.

In the "Middle East" category, a visit to Biden opens the page with four articles and commentary.

The New York Times' homepage opens with an article on inflation and fuel prices in the United States, against the background of data from the Consumer Price Index published yesterday.

The second article is about Biden's visit and focuses on the president's dilapidated condition at home compared to the respect and value he receives in Israel.

The article below is about the US President's handshake policy.

On the "World" page, between Live Blog Ukraine and an article about the chaos in Sri Lanka, an article was inserted about Biden's credentials to Israel regarding Iran's nuclear policy and his statement that the United States would use force if necessary to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

The Wall Street Journal of Economics has covered the visit at the bottom of the home page, with the opening article dealing with inflation.

On the "World" page, Biden's visit to Israel is embedded under the main article on the crisis in Sri Lanka.

The article on Biden focuses on Biden's growing need for Saudi Arabia's oil - the real purpose of the visit to the Middle East - amid rising fuel prices.

The article claimed that although Biden did not place the region at the center of his foreign policy and wanted to focus on China, he was now forced to address the region due to the cost of living crisis exacerbated by the war in Ukraine.

The article on Biden, however, opens the site's "politics" page, amid criticism the president has received at home about his visit to Saudi Arabia, whose relations with the United States have been particularly strained since the Washington Post's assassination of Istanbul by Saudi agents.

Politico opens the home page with an article about Biden's visit to Israel, but does not focus on Israel but on the comparison of the current visit to the visit of former President Donald Trump, Biden's sworn rival.

The article analyzes the fact that although this was the last thing he wanted, Biden found himself in the position of following Trump - one of his only accomplishments during his tenure was the declaration of "Abraham Accords" in the region - and reaching the Middle East to strengthen ties between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

A smaller article addresses the president's handshake policy during his visit, which appears to have preoccupied many Americans, perhaps due to Biden's advanced age.

On the NBC News homepage, the headline is about abortions and next to it an article about Trump and the hearings.

On the side, the article about Biden in Israel appears for the first time in the list of "leading stories".

The headline is "Biden meets with Israeli leaders against the background of political instability" in Israel.

Linked to this article is information about the Secret Service agent who arrived before the visit but was sent home before Biden arrived after a woman in Jerusalem complained about him.

The De Hill website refers to a visit to the news page only when the sixth article is about Bade's handshakes, followed by an article about the Progressive Democrats' opposition to a visit to Saudi Arabia or the supply of American weapons to the kingdom.

Biden "Desperate"

On the CNN home page, the big article deals with the crisis in Sri Lanka, but Biden's visit also gets attention with a smaller article on the side that focuses on Israel's concerns about Iran.

The political page has two articles - one on handshakes - and the other on the fact that Biden was forced to embrace the achievements of his predecessor in office in the region.

The Fox News website did not miss an opportunity to mock Biden and focused on the fact that the president was confused by what he said at Yad Vashem: "In honor of the Holocaust - that is, in the horrors of the Holocaust - and in honor of those we lost," Biden said, and Fox was quick to celebrate.

The handshakes were also mentioned in the article under the theme "Biden and the Middle East", which highlights the fact that the president did not shake hands with Prime Minister Yair Lapid, but did so with Benjamin Netanyahu.

The economic Bloomberg website included an article about Biden's visit to Saudi Arabia at the beginning of its "Middle East News" page, but its headline is not about Israel but again about the fact that Saudi Arabia was found to be too important and too large for "desperate" Biden to ignore. From her - as he wanted.
