On the occasion of July 14, our beloved storming of the Bastille, all of France is celebrating.
Starting with the parade or big fireworks display at the Eiffel Tower, there are many exceptional events... discover all the festivities planned in Paris, or near you in Ile-de-France, this Thursday 14 July 2022.
Note: after two years of Covid, town halls are reorganizing events without health constraints, but this year the weather is almost too mild and the risk of fires may cancel certain events: find out before you go.
The classic: the July 14 Parade on the Champs Elysées.
8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday morning.
The traditional parade will have the theme “Sharing the flame” in double reference to the resistance and the Olympic flame, Ukraine and the European countries on the eastern flank will also be honoured.
After the parade, the whole public is invited to meet the soldiers and to approach the machines on the Esplanade des Invalides from 2 p.m.
The exceptional: the Fireworks of the Eiffel Tower
In Paris, the fireworks of July 14 at the Eiffel Tower will be fired this evening, Thursday July 14, from 11 p.m. on the theme “Carpe diem” (“let’s enjoy life”).
Each year, it offers a breathtaking 30-minute show that is both a visual and sound show;
it will be preceded at 9 p.m. by a major classical music concert on the Champs de Mars.
In the rest of Ile-de-France, the municipalities choose to celebrate the day before, as in Villemomble, Antony, Le Bourget... but other municipalities shoot their fireworks on the 14th as in Bondy, Gonesse, Herblay...
Popular balls and firemen's balls
Another unmissable event on July 14: balls to dance together.
Town halls and fire stations offer evenings to party, most often free of charge.

Moments of exchange and sharing... some cities offer a Republican lunch or dinner, in the form of paying meals or picnics open to all;
