Following the temperature of 35 degrees recorded for three consecutive days a few days ago, the Observatory predicts that the high-altitude anticyclone will continue to bring generally fine and extremely hot weather to southern China for the rest of this week and next week.

In addition, the high-altitude disturbance will bring a few showers to the northern part of the South China Sea in the next day or two.


According to the Observatory's nine-day weather forecast, it will also be extremely hot for eight consecutive days from Saturday (16th), with the highest temperature in the urban area reaching as high as 33 to 34 degrees.

In addition, next Saturday (23rd) will be the "big heat" in the 24 solar terms. The Observatory expects that the temperature on that day will reach 34 degrees, which may become the hottest heat since 1972.

The Observatory said the high-altitude anticyclone is bringing generally sunny weather to southern China.

At noon today (14th), the temperature in many parts of Hong Kong rose to about 33 degrees.

As of 12:30 noon, the Observatory recorded 32.5 degrees, Sheung Shui, Wong Tai Sin and Kowloon City saw more than 34 degrees, and Tai Mei Tu reached 35.6 degrees.

The hot weather warning has been in place for 120 hours since it came into effect on July 9.

However, the observatory pointed out that cloud bands associated with high-altitude disturbances are covering the northeastern part of the South China Sea.

The weather is forecast to be mostly fine today, with a very hot afternoon; a light breeze and a mild southerly wind will blow later.

It is expected that the high temperature weather will continue for the rest of this week and next week, but tomorrow (15th) will be sunny for a short time, there will be a few showers, and the temperature will drop slightly to between 28 and 32 degrees.
