Olympic Games 2024: we recruit during a cruise for major construction sites

Break the codes, break the decor.

And to make the 2024 Olympics a reality. It was on a cruise on the Seine that construction and public works companies as well as temporary work agencies recruited last Friday.

Resumé submissions and contacts took place while some of the major Olympic sites in Seine-Saint-Denis, visible from the boat, were paraded in the landscape: the athletes' village, in Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen and the 'Ile-Saint-Denis;

the Grande Nef on the Island of Vannes, in Saint-Ouen;

burying very high voltage lines in Saint-Denis.

“The idea is to change the setting while showing the Olympic territory in a different light.

This is what you might call an innovative cruise,” explains Wilfried Serisier, head of the employment, training and integration department at Plaine Commune.

Organized with Pôle emploi, this original fair is in its fourth edition in two years.

About fifty candidates were on deck facing recruiters from a dozen major construction groups such as Eiffage, Vinci, Spie, interim specialists such as Randstad or cleaning companies.

The operation is also an opportunity to reach people far from the world of work and get them back on track, thanks to the integration clauses signed by the major groups selected for the Olympic Games.

“Profiles who have been looking for work for more than a year, people at the RSA are for example concerned”, specifies Alioune Mbaye, project manager and “facilitator” within Plaine Commune.

"All those we saw were very motivated and that's a pleasure," said a representative of Spie Batignolles.

“This cruise is an effective way to find interesting new profiles in a short time.
