A2: Truck loses rear wheels - overloaded with bricks
The police noticed the rear-wheelless truck on Wednesday evening (July 13) at around 10:15 p.m. on the hard shoulder of the A2, reports 24RHEIN.
The 65-year-old driver parked the truck between the Herford and Bad Salzuflen junctions.
"The highway police describe it as fortunate that the driver was able to stop his small truck loaded with bricks without him or anyone else having an accident," reports the police.
The officers found several pallets of bricks on the back of the truck.
These were not secured and clearly too heavy for the 7.5 ton truck.
The police also see the reason for the tearing off of the rear wheels in the overloading.
Truck on A2 loses rear wheels: Drivers expect multiple ads
But that's not all: the driver from Essen did not have a valid driver's license for the truck. The 65-year-old's driver's license expired in April 2022.
The 65-year-old is now awaiting several ads.
The salvage of the truck lasted until late at night.
The right lane of the A2 also had to be closed for this.
There is also damage to the road surface.
According to the police, these are to be "repaired at a later date".
