That happened quickly: a few weeks after Peiting's market builder Fabian Kreitl surprisingly announced his departure at the end of the year, the municipality found a successor.

With the long-standing building authority employee Christian Hack, they rely on an internal solution.

Peiting – Three weeks ago, the news in Peiting that market builder Fabian Kreitl would resign at the end of the year caused quite a stir.

The young Peitinger, who took over the post at the end of 2018, was silent about the exact reasons, which of course left plenty of room for speculation.

Especially since Kreitl is the second important employee to leave the administration a few months after Treasurer Christian Hollrieder.

In Hollrieder's case, the gap was closed relatively quickly, and four months after his departure, his successor, Dörthe Schneider, took up her post in April.

The municipality can now report completion of the market builder even more quickly: last Wednesday Mayor Peter Ostenrieder introduced Christian Hack, who has been a building authority employee for many years, as the future market builder.

Christian Hack has been working for the community since 2011

Shortly after Kreitl's dismissal became known, the head of the town hall said he wanted to talk to Hack and offered him the position of market builder.

From the point of view of the head of the town hall, there were good reasons for this.

The 44-year-old brings with him the necessary qualifications for the office.

Hack is a trained bricklayer, trained as an industrial clerk during his eight years with the German Armed Forces and then continued his education in Munich as a construction technician.

Before moving to the municipality in 2011, where he has since been responsible for the maintenance of municipal properties and oversees new construction projects, the 44-year-old spent a year gaining practical experience as a site manager for a construction company.

From the mayor's point of view, the fact that Hack is very familiar with the local conditions also spoke for the 44-year-old.

According to Ostenrieder, Hack regularly sits at the table during discussions with the architects and planners on important new construction projects, such as the construction of the kindergarten on Jägerstrasse.

The 44-year-old apparently made a lasting impression on the community leader with his profound practical contributions.

"I perceived that very positively."

Aware of the responsible task that awaited him, Hack took his time with his commitment.

It was a three-week decision-making process, says the 44-year-old, who naturally wanted to talk to his family first.

Hack lives with his wife and child in Ingenried, where he grew up.

In the end, the family council gave the green light for the new professional challenge.

The community is now looking for a new builder

Hack is aware that it is quite large.

Some tasks, such as advising citizens on construction, are new to him.

The 44-year-old still has to get to grips with one or the other new specialist area.

“You leave your comfort zone there.” The cooperation with his current boss in the building authority will therefore be even closer than before.

Kreitl should train Hack in the next few months.

On October 1, the 44-year-old will then officially take over the position of market builder.

Kreitl will then retire, so to speak, to the second rank until his final departure at the end of the year.

By then, the municipality hopes to have found a successor for the construction technician position, which is now vacant due to internal occupation.

The question remains as to why Hack didn't actually apply for the position earlier.

After all, the community was desperately looking for a new market builder before they could fill the position with Fabian Kreitl in 2018.

"At the time I was busy building my house, so it was clear that it wouldn't work," explains the 44-year-old.

"Personally, I am very pleased that we found a good solution so quickly," said a visibly satisfied mayor.

The municipal council also approved the administration's approach on Tuesday and approved the personnel in a closed session.
