An 11-year-old boy was brutally stabbed to death in his bed in Hobbs, New Mexico, and died hours later in hospital.
Before dying he revealed to the police who was the person who injured him.
Bruce Johnson Jr. assured authorities last Sunday at the hospital that it was
his own mother
who had stabbed him.
The boy's father, Bruce Sr., was asleep when his son's screams woke him up.
When he went to see him, he found him in bed with
stab wounds.
In another room he found his wife and mother of her child, Mary Johnson, 49, unconscious with multiple "self-inflicted" stab wounds to the chest, according to the Lea County Sheriff's Office.
The man then called 911.

Emergency services arrived at 1:00 am and transported the minor to Covenant Health Hospital where, three hours later, he was pronounced dead.
His body was sent to the Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque for an autopsy which revealed that he was stabbed to death multiple times.

The mother was stabilized at the same hospital and then taken to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, where
a warrant was issued for her arrest for first-degree murder.

reported that his mother, Mary, had stabbed him

The father had moved from Oklahoma to Hobbs with his son to distance him from his wife, who is believed to be mentally ill and was allegedly abusing the child, according to authorities.
He had planned to file for divorce due to her abuse and her allegedly being violent towards him.

But after not seeing his son for 40 days, and after several pleas, the father allowed the woman to visit them in Hobbs (a city of about 43,000 people near the Texas border) and stay with them before they left. divorce was finalized.
“There have been no reports of abuse or neglect since they moved to New Mexico;
however, at least two reported incidents occurred while they were living in Oklahoma,” authorities noted.
