The Supreme Political Council of Yemen affirmed that external interference in the country's internal affairs represents the greatest obstacle to peace, stressing the need to stop the Saudi aggression, end the occupation and lift the siege on the Yemeni people.
In a statement today, the Council expressed its rejection of any outcomes issued by US President Joe Biden's visit to the region and said that the United States "is not in the process of modifying its behavior towards Yemen and the region as a whole, which makes Biden's visit the object of condemnation, denunciation and rejection by the Yemeni people and all the free people of the nation."
The Council deplored the talk about understandings about extending the armistice, and said that “the armistice, in which the party of the aggression did not abide by its provisions, represented a shocking and disappointing experience that cannot be repeated in the future, with constant readiness to strengthen any credible efforts that lead to real and practical solutions in the humanitarian and economic aspects.”
The Council affirmed that peace in Yemen requires a clear and serious will and practical readiness by the aggressors to respect the sovereignty and independence of Yemen and to engage in a practical way in stopping the aggression, lifting the siege and ending the occupation, as well as addressing all the effects and repercussions of the war, noting that it made many initiatives and concessions in order to alleviate the suffering of the people Yemen, but to no avail.
In its statement, the Council stressed that the Saudi regime's adherence to the blockade, obstructing the entry of ships to the port of Hodeidah and closing the Yemeni airspace and airports is a clear and declared war crime, reaffirming the full right of the Yemeni people to continue the struggle and take the appropriate measures and options that guarantee their full rights.
