Homs, SANA- The second day of the Citadel and Valley Festival, which is held in Homs Governorate, witnessed various activities that reflected the heritage of the city

The second day of the Citadel and Valley Festival, which is held in Homs Governorate, witnessed a variety of activities that reflected the region's heritage and customs and added an atmosphere of joy and pleasure among the residents and visitors.

The events were launched in the town of Hob Namira through the Scouts Festival, with the participation of three Scout teams from Mashta Azar, Al Mashtaya and Hob Namira.

In a statement to SANA reporter, the Director of Homs Tourism, King Abbas, indicated that the most important feature of the Castle and Wadi Festival is the participation of the local community and the remarkable presence of the people in various activities.

In turn, the leader of the Lady Scout troupe in Mashta Azar, Roger Al-Ahmar, indicated that this is their first participation outside their town, where they came to participate in the scouts of other villages in presenting a number of national and western songs, considering that these participations support the youth who are part of this festival.

In turn, Riama Haddad, the leader of the trumpets, said: Our participation in the Scout Festival today provides us with support to continue and develop in our work as youth teams, considering that the Castle and Wadi Festival is an important opportunity for young people to present their activities and creativity.

The young scout, Ghaith Tohme, leader of the scouts of the Saint Georges Monastery, Al-Mashtaia, said that the scouts' participation in the Citadel and Wadi Festival is special because it carries a message of love, cooperation and giving, pointing to the festival's role in revitalizing the tourism and economic sector in the region and spreading joy among the people.

Eng. Nizar Shabshoul, Mayor of Hob Namira, indicated that the town permanently participates in the activities of the Citadel and Wadi Festival through a series of selected activities that reflect the originality of the place and the adherence of its people to their national principles.

The villages and towns of the valley witnessed the launch of a cleaning campaign entitled “Our Valley is Better,” which included cleaning the valley’s squares and streets, in addition to cleaning the body of the Al Muzayna Dam, with the participation of about 30 young men and women.

In the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, poets from the town of Al-Mazina performed a poetry evening that included a group of lyrical and patriotic poems and the spoken poetry of the poets Ghassan Salloum and Kamal Karam.

Engineer Youssef Abboud, Mayor of Al Muzaina, said that the activities and events that were carried out today in the valley are part of the activities of the Citadel and Valley Festival, which has become an annual tradition preserved by the Governorate of Homs and has become an annual meeting place for the people of the region and tourists, considering that the festivals are an important cultural case that expresses the heritage, history and civilization of Syria.

In turn, Sally Nader, Lama and Tony Ibrahim, from the expatriate residents of the town of Al-Mazaina, pointed out that the Citadel and Wadi Festival has become a date for joy and family gathering in the various villages of the valley, and the people and expatriates who spend their vacations in Syria are eagerly waiting for it.

The events concluded with a concert by the artist Ayman Makhoul and his band in the courtyard of the Canaan Castle Restaurant in Al Mazina.
