A fire broke out in an attic apartment in a house in Bad Kohlgrub.
The cause of the devastating fire is still unclear.
Bad Kohlgrub – According to a police press release, on Sunday morning, July 17, a fire broke out in the top floor apartment of a family home in Bad Kohlgrub, in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district.
The call was made around 9:30 a.m.

When the alerted emergency services from the surrounding fire departments arrived at the scene of the fire, the balcony of the house was already on fire and the fire spread to the attic.
The image of a devastating fire quickly emerged.

, the regional fire brigades from Bad Kohlgrub, Saulgrub, Oberammergau and Murnau were on site
with 110 emergency services and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the rest of the house and bring the fire under control.
According to initial reports, no one was injured in the fire.
However, it is still completely unclear what caused the devastating fire, which, according to initial estimates, caused property damage of more than 100,000 euros.

Destruction after fire: column of smoke can be seen from afar – cause unclear
According to reports, the plume of smoke could be seen from miles away.
The firefighters managed to extinguish the fire on the roof structure using respiratory protection and a turntable ladder.
The roof was opened with a chainsaw to remove the last embers.
The permanent criminal service of the Weilheim police took over the first investigations on site.
The further investigations are taken over by the competent department 1 of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Criminal Police Office under the direction of the Munich II public prosecutor's office.
According to the police press release, there is no evidence of intentional arson.
