The Villa Sonnenschein in Paunzhausen celebrates its 35th birthday.

The children were delighted with a “secret” birthday present.

Paunzhausen

– The first real festival after two years of forced Corona break was a special one: The “Villa Sonnenschein” kindergarten in Paunzhausen recently celebrated its 35th anniversary.

The birthday house was as young and beautiful as on the first day.

13 children are currently cared for in the crèche and 75 in the kindergarten.

Due to the recent expansion of the house, there will be enough places for the young people from the municipal area for the new kindergarten year next fall.

Director Stephanie Beck assumes that there will be no waiting lists in the future either.

Team grows from 13 to 17 in fall

Beck, her deputy Marina Neumayer and the staff have good conditions and a good atmosphere in the children's home.

The currently 13-strong team will grow to 17 members in autumn.

Manager Stephanie Beck is very proud of the great team spirit and the good working atmosphere.

In her opinion, this is also the reason why many long-standing team members work in Paunzhausen and why there are not such personnel problems as in many other children's homes.

Mayor Johann Daniel was among the well-wishers at the anniversary, and presented each employee with a rose.

The head of the community emphasized that, as a rule, the community facilities have been expanded every ten years and that is a good thing.

Apartments have already been remodeled twice and the children's home has been given new space.

Daniel anticipates that the current standard will be able to meet the needs of the community for years to come.

Children tested the "secret" birthday present

The focus of the anniversary celebration was primarily on the children.

Matching the group names, the girls and boys appeared as caterpillars, butterflies, bees or beetles and sang funny songs to the numerous parents.

In addition, the secret birth gift could be put through its paces: the community bought a climbing frame with a slide and lots of play options for the heavenly garden of the children's home.

The supervisor from the first hour reports on the beginning times

A special employee of the Villa Sonnenschein remembers that you didn't always have this play paradise.

Sabine Köhler from Schweiterkirchen has been the supervisor from the very beginning and thought back to the start 35 years ago with a smile.

Everything was ready in the new kindergarten, but there was nothing to play with.

"We went to Freising and spontaneously bought a few toys," she remembers.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

In the first year there was a morning and an afternoon group - and even then these were well booked.

"We had nine three-year-olds with us in the first year." But Sabine Köhler doesn't want to make a comparison between today and the start 35 years ago: "It was very nice here then, as it is now.

This kindergarten is my second home.”
