The emergency services, alerted by witnesses, intervened this Sunday evening in the 19th arrondissement of Paris to get a person out of the water who was unresponsive in the Ourcq canal, from the Charente quay.
The circumstances of the accident remain unclear.
The man, a young man in his twenties, was a priori part of a group.
“He was transported to the hospital in cardiorespiratory arrest”, confirms the side of the firefighters who carried out first aid.
A dozen rescue workers were dispatched to the scene.
This accident echoes a recent precedent.
On July 2, a young man of about 17 died drowned in the Canal de l'Ourcq, in the same area, not far from the Geode in the Parc de la Villette (19th century).
