Will the primaries be postponed?
The change in the electoral system that excites the Likud
The tribunal ruled that the new candidates on the Likud list, who are running for reserved regional districts, will be chosen by the functionaries and not by members of the Likud Center.
The power of Knesset members such as Haim Katz and David Bitan may weaken from the decision - but the one who is probably satisfied with it is Netanyahu

A world war broke out in the Likud over the weekend, following a decision by the movement's tribunal to order a change in the method of voting in the primaries for the party list.
The tribunal unanimously accepted a petition demanding that the election of the new candidates on the list, who are running for reserved regional districts, from the Likud Center for functionaries in each district, be passed.
The decision repeals an amendment made to the Likud constitution in 2015 that strengthened the center's members, and returns power to the election of the district candidates for the functionaries.
According to Likud sources, it impairs the ability of the powerful MKs at the Likud Center, such as Haim Katz, Israel Katz and David Bitan, to influence the selection of new candidates to enter the list, and it provokes opposition among center members who will lose their power in drafting the list and closing deals.
However, the Likud estimates that the party's chairman, Benjamin Netanyahu, is actually satisfied with the tribunal's decision - since he fears Hatzim and Bitan's attempts to run candidates on their behalf and establish an internal force outpost in the Knesset faction.

The Likud primaries are due to take place on August 3, but the court's decision may lead to a postponement of the schedules, as it requires the re-approval of the primaries' regulations in the party institutions, and its opponents will try to delay the proceedings by legal means.
The Likud comptroller, Shai Galili, has already submitted a request for a further hearing on the decision, this time in an expanded panel of the tribunal, and the party estimates that the proceedings may reach as far as the district court.
