The special train trip planned for this Sunday, July 24, by the "Bavarian Local Railway Association" with the E69 05 electric locomotive from 1930 from Munich via Starnberg and Benediktbeuern to Kochel has to be postponed due to construction work.
Kochel am See - "The reason is the currently unforeseeable situation with regard to short-term route closures," says Max though, who is responsible for trip planning in the association.
The railway line to Kochel is currently probably closed until Wednesday, Deutsche Bahn cannot yet announce the exact end of the construction work (we reported).
The train was supposed to enrich the lake festival of the Kochler fire brigade.
“Train shouldn’t get stuck at Ostbahnhof”
In addition, DB is planning to temporarily close the route to Landshut.
"But this route is needed in order to be able to drive the train stationed in Landshut to Munich at all," sayscircle.
"It would be neither in the interest of the passengers nor in the interest of the association if the train were to stand at Ostbahnhof and then not be able to run because damage to the track was discovered again at short notice."
A new start is planned for autumn
The association therefore wants to wait until the situation in the Deutsche Bahn route network has calmed down again.
"But in our opinion, that will probably not be the case before September." It is therefore planned to catch up on the nostalgia train trip to Kochel in September or on the first weekend in October.
"We are currently in consultation with the railways to clarify whether there is any planned construction work during this period," says Rundet.
The pre-registration for the train journey will remain in place for the time being.
As soon as the new date has been set, it will be announced via the media and the club's website (www.localbahnverein.de).
Rundet hopes that railroad enthusiasts will continue to show interest.
The association needs the income to be able to finance the maintenance of the trains.
