Although Claudia continued to live on the estate until 1984 (and passed away in 1997), the restaurant was actually run by members of the Stells family, good friends of the Sanders, for many years.
Now they are interested in retiring and passing the property on, to a man who will launch the next chicken empire.
"The Stells family is committed to finding the right person who will not only preserve this historic brand and take care of its employees, but will expand the Claudia Sanders brand in other countries," said real estate agent Morgan Hancock, who handles the property.
In other words, it's not enough to just be rich and love KFC to buy the estate - it also takes a proven business ability to help set up a new international fast food chain.
