After 5,000 people on Sunday in Paris, around 300 demonstrators marched on Monday July 18 in Fécamp in memory of a Tibetan killed by a knife in front of an Asian restaurant in Saint-Léonard (Seine-Maritime), noted an AFP photographer.
Under overwhelming heat, the demonstrators, including the victim's companion, marched from Fécamp station to the Asian restaurant in Saint-Léonard, which employed the victim and where the tragedy occurred.

On the facade of the restaurant, the demonstrators hung a portrait, a white scarf and laid flowers on the grid.
The participants in the white march then sang the national anthem of Tibet as well as the Marseillaise and observed a minute of silence followed by speeches.
Last week, three people were indicted for intentional homicide and imprisoned as part of the investigation opened after the murder of the victim, which took place on July 11.
“We are not going to let this crime pass”
A source close to the case then told AFP that "
the victim is from the Tibetan community
" while the defendants are from the Chinese community, but that "
it (was) much too early to mention a possible racist motive
”.

For the moment, we are rather in a context of violent brawl against a background of strong alcoholism
,” said this source familiar with the matter.

This is the first time that this kind of drama has happened, the fact that a Chinese kills a Tibetan.
This awakens suffering.
That it happened in France, in a free country, makes the suffering even stronger.
We are not going to let this crime pass,
” Yangkey Muccini, a spokeswoman for the “
Tibetan Community of France and its Friends
” who had called for this march with five pro-Tibet associations, told AFP.
On Sunday, 5,000 demonstrators paid their first tribute to the deceased in Paris between Place de la Bastille and Place de la République, according to figures from the police headquarters.
Thursday, a hundred people from the Tibetan community came to Saint-Léonard and ransacked the restaurant, a police source told AFP.

The man killed, born in Lithang in Tibet, was 32 years old and had arrived in France in 2014, according to Céline Menguy, press officer of the Bureau of Tibet.
