A working meeting in the Jableh City Council regarding drinking water set a set of measures to be implemented in coordination between the Drinking Water Corporation, the Water Resources Directorate and the Electricity Company, with the aim of enhancing the water supply on more than one axis in the city and its countryside.

The meeting, which took place in the presence of the Governor of Lattakia, Eng. Amer Hilal, directors of institutions, concerned authorities and members of the provincial and city council, after discussing the reality of drinking water throughout the region, concluded that the hours of electricity supply in the city of Jableh would be increased continuously from three to seven in the morning daily until the implementation of the Roman wells investment works. The participants in the meeting also discussed the reality of nutrition with drinking water on the most needy axes in the countryside of Jableh, including Dalia, Beit Lohou pumping station, Beit Yashout axis, Halbko, Hilla Ara, Zama, Ghaniri, Benjaro, and Karam Al-Fawzi pumping station, which links between Yarin and Al-Boudi stations.

Governor Hilal asked the Director General of the Water Corporation to expedite the implementation of the project of installing mechanical and electrical equipment for the Zama well and to coordinate with water resources to study the possibility of adding a pump to the group of spring pumps with the installation of a plunger for the Benjaro well and investing it immediately during the current rationing times, which contributes to alleviating the suffering of the people in the nearby villages With a study being conducted to operate it in groups on diesel or to be exempted from rationing at a later time.

Governor Hilal indicated that there will be subsequent meetings on the reality of drinking water to develop treatment in coordination with the concerned authorities based on the problems posed by the people of these areas and will include Latakia, Qardaha and Al Haffa.

It was also agreed during the meeting to continue feeding the Ghanieri station with water for ten hours a day and to coordinate with the international organization that supports the installation of new pumps for the Derin station to expedite its implementation, especially with two pumps currently out of service.

It was also agreed to study the exemption of the Karam Fawzy station from the electrical rationing, which is a link point between the Derin and Al-Boudi station, to achieve the optimum benefit on the same axis.

In turn, the Director of the Electricity Company, Engineer Jaber Assi, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the company is ready to study the preparation of the Beit Lohou pumping station on the Dalia axis to be included in the program of stations exempt from rationing, with the development of a program to increase the hours of electrical feeding in the morning from 3 to 7 in the morning in the city of Jableh to increase The water supply in the city and its delivery to all lines and coordination with the Drinking Water Corporation to increase the hours of electrical supply on more than one axis in line with the requirements of increasing the supply of drinking water in the countryside of the region.
