A song by Joaquín Sabina says, paraphrasing the poet Félix Grande, that wherever you have been happy, you should not try to return.
However, actor Russell Crowe doesn't seem to have heeded this advice.
The one who was the protagonist of
Gladiator
(2000), a film for which he won the Oscar for best actor and which at the age of 35 catapulted him to fame, is in Rome (Italy) these days preparing his role in the director's new film Australian Julius Avery, entitled
The Pope's Exorcist
(which could be translated as
The
Pope's Exorcist ).
In addition to preparing this new production, Russell Crowe, 58, has taken advantage of these days in Rome to walk like any other tourist in the Italian capital and rediscover the most emblematic places in the city, including the Colosseum.
"Taking the children to see my old office," the actor joked on Monday on his Twitter account, in which he has 2.8 million followers.
During the visit to the largest amphitheater of the Roman Empire, 22 years after the premiere of
Gladiator
, the New Zealand actor, who would play General Máximo Décimo Meridio, was accompanied by his girlfriend, Britney Theriot, 32, and their two children, Charles , 18, and Tennyson, 16, from his previous relationship with Australian actress and singer Danielle Spencer.

Spencer and Crowe were married in April 2003 at a family estate in Nana Glen, New South Wales.
They separated in 2012 and would formalize their divorce six years later.
For her part, the interpreter of
LA Confidential
and Theriot, former actress and her current partner, met on the set of the film
Broken City
, in 2013, according to British media such as
TheDailyMail
.
However, it was not until November 2020 that they confirmed her romance with a kiss on a tennis court.

But the photograph next to the Roman Colosseum is not the only image of his family vacation that the interpreter in
Les Miserables
has shared on his Twitter account.
On his route through the corners of Rome he has also published a photo of the Fontana di Trevi, which he described as: "One of my favorite places in the universe";
Additionally, Crowe has shared an image and video of the ceiling and interior of the Pantheon, without any accompanying descriptive caption.
The
paparazzi
have also hunted images of these days where the family enjoys Italian cuisine.
In Crowe's new film, the actor will take on the role of Father Gabriele Amorth, a priest who served as the Vatican's chief exorcist and performed more than 100,000 exorcisms in his lifetime.
The artist's last role and premiere took place on July 8 with
Thor: Love and Thunder
, where at the direction of director Taika Waititi and with actor Chris Hemsworth he plays the god Zeus.
