The current heat wave in Europe is expected to break the heat records known by the continent tomorrow (Tuesday) - according to forecaster Nahum Malik, from Meteo Tech.
In an interview with Israel Today, Malik says: "The peak of the current heat wave in Europe so far is today, but tomorrow it will intensify even more, reaching peak temperatures not yet measured in central England. Apparently, it is 40 degrees in London."

How unusual is this heat wave?
Another significant heat wave was most recently in July 2019, when 39 degrees were measured in London.
However, Malik notes: "What is happening right now is the intensification of heat waves and their frequency. This is already the second heat wave to occur in Europe this year - after the previous one in June. We will see them reach the continent more and more, and with greater intensity."

When will the heat wave break?
The current wave will break this coming Wednesday, with rains and falling temperatures.
But in southern Europe - in Spain and southern France, for example - the heat wave will intensify again towards Saturday.
Can such heat waves reach the country?
Malik explains that there is a difference between the heat waves in Europe and those in Israel.
"The heat wave in Europe is a wave of hot air coming from Africa - from Morocco and Algeria. It settles on this region in Europe, and then continues to the center of the continent and south. But it is not related to us. The heat here is due to other reasons: we have heat sources south and east. It is true that in the coming days the heat load in the country will increase, but it will increase for reasons that depend on the Israeli summer. "
