The Ford Mustang is associated with a loud V8 sound.

But thanks to Sebastian Krieg, the sports car also masters soft sounds.

That has its price.

Opinions differ on the Ford Mustang Mach-E.

For some it is an electric SUV that only bears the name of the cult sports car, for others it is a logical step into the future.

Unsurprisingly, Opel is also planning a Manta comeback as a Stromer.

If you don't want to do without the classic Mustangs, but would like to drive purely electrically, you can easily combine both.

Assuming you have the wherewithal.

This is now made possible by Krieg Classic Cars.

The company from Ismaning has long been committed to old and youngtimers and has now developed an electric drive for classic Ford Mustangs together with e-works Mobility GmbH.

The idea for this came from company boss Sebastian Krieger, as he

explained on the

N-TV program PS Automagazin .

"Most of them throw their hands up in their heads.

But when you then explain what kind of technology is behind it and, above all, when you drive it, the reaction is positive in the end,” said Krieg.

After all, the electric Mustang drives just like a normal one.

The reason: the original chassis is retained.

And little else needs to be changed on the sports car for the conversion.

Only the engine and the gearbox are replaced.

In the interior, the instruments of the Ford Mustang are adapted to the new drive, but retain the original look.

Classic cars with electric motors: from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds

In terms of performance, the converted electric sports car does not have to hide either.

The electric motor delivers a whopping 245 hp or 190 kW.

For comparison, the Ford Mustang Mach-E Standard Range has an output of 198 kW (269 hp).

The classic now completes the sprint from zero to 100 in around 6.3 seconds.

At 160 km/h, however, it's over.

With the large battery that is used in series production, the converted Ford Mustang can cover around 210 to 250 kilometers.

“Depending on driving style,” emphasizes Krieg.

It is charged with 22 kW (AC) or with up to 100 kW at the fast charging station.

However, the car hobbyist did not say how big the battery pack is, which is located in the engine and trunk.

However, the conversion is not exactly cheap: depending on the condition, around 100,000 euros are due.

Compared to a US workshop that also converts classic cars, this is still a bargain.
