An editorial entitled "Out of Their Mind" in the newspaper "Yated Ne'eman" sharply criticized the chain that was distributed at the Likud conference and on which the figure of Netanyahu is stamped. The author described an imaginary future in which every Likud functionary would be required to place a statue in the shape of the party chairman in his home. "The distance to the golden calf is not far away"

Likud activist Heidi Mozes wears a gold pendant in the figure of Netanyahu on MK Israel Katz. July 17, 2022 (none)

An editorial in the Yated Ne'eman newspaper, which is affiliated with Torah Judaism chairman Moshe Gafni, sharply criticized the Likud following the pendant embossed with the image of party chairman Benjamin Netanyahu.

"If the Likud wants to win the election, it should stand at the head and stop this madness," it said.

An article entitled "They Went Crazy" also states that "this is how it starts, first distribute a necklace with the leader's relief on it - and next it will reach the relief maybe from a mop maybe from silver and who knows, maybe even gold, that every Likud functionary will be required to place it at the entrance." And exemplary of absolute loyalty to the leader. "

"Declaration of allegiance."

"The party's secret service personnel will move between the houses of Likud functionaries to make sure that they have indeed placed the relief in the place and with the respect it deserves, if it wants to be a party member," the author of the article went on to describe an imaginary future situation.

"Personality worship is a 'proven virtue' for destruction and ruin, and especially - for aversion and disgust, because from a gold chain to a golden calf the distance is not great."

Earlier this week, a gilded "declaration of allegiance" with the figure of Netanyahu was distributed at one of the Likud's election rallies.

The moment was documented, circulated on social media and provoked criticism in the political system.

A video circulated from the conference at home in Givat Zeev shows Likud activist Heidi Mozes, who is running in the Knesset primaries, trying to wear the gold pendant in Netanyahu's figure on MK Israel Katz. "This is a declaration of allegiance to our party.

"We are proud to be in this party that we have excellent elected officials and a wonderful soon-to-be Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu," said Mozes.

Netanyahu responded to the storm surrounding the pendant in a video he posted on social media.

"We do not need a pendant or a declaration of loyalty. The loyalty we need is to our principles - protecting the Land of Israel, Israel's security, lowering prices, worrying about the cost of living," Netanyahu said.

"These are the essential things, and above all: loyalty to the Israeli flag that has fallen, and we are waving it again."
