Again: fall in a bicycle group – 75-year-old seriously injured

Shortly after a similar accident near Aßling, a senior citizen was seriously injured in a collision in a group of cyclists near Moosach (Ebersberg district).

– A failed turning maneuver ended in a fall and serious injuries for a 75-year-old cyclist near Moosach.
As reported by the police, the senior was on Tuesday morning, July 19, around 10:45 a.m. with a group of cyclists on the district road from Buch near Kirchseeon in the direction of Moosach.
When the group of bicycles wanted to turn left at the end of a forest area in the direction of Deinhofen, they all reduced their speed.
Ignore the braking maneuvers of the vehicle in front
According to the officials, only the 75-year-old overlooked a slowing 68-year-old driving in front of him, wanted to overtake him, but could no longer avoid a collision, which is why the two cyclists from Munich fell as a result.
The 75-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries to his arms and legs as a result of the fall, reports the Ebersberg inspection.
He was taken to Ebersberg Hospital by ambulance.
The 68-year-old was only slightly injured and did not require immediate medical treatment.
Both those involved in the accident were wearing protective helmets, police said.
The officials estimate the damage to the bicycles at 1000 euros.
Similar accident three days earlier with two seriously injured
It is not the first accident of this kind: Three days earlier, two racing cyclists had collided with each other near Lorenzenberg (Aßling municipality), both were seriously injured and a rescue helicopter had to fly in.
