The extinction of animals on the Australian continent is expected to increase in the near future due to the climate crisis, according to a recent environmental report submitted to the Australian government.
This is an environmental survey conducted on the continent every five years.
The study's authors state that invasive species entry, environmental pollution, mineral mining and habitat loss have already caused irreparable damage.
The report describes 19 ecosystems on the continent that are on the verge of collapse. For example, there are already more invasive species in Australia than native species, and the number of extinct species is large compared to any other continent.

Australia's Environment Minister Tanya Flibersk said "this is a shocking and sometimes downright depressing document. I intend to implement new laws to address the situation. If we do not wake up to change now, the landscapes and animals may not be here for our children and grandchildren."
The biodiversity is small
Since compiling the previous report in 2016, threats have increased to 200 different species of animals on the continent, some of them species that can be found in Australia. Among these species were koalas and cockatoos.
In this regard it should be noted the continent of Australia has suffered in recent years from severe droughts, severe fire waves, unprecedented floods and floods and six mass incidents on the Great Barrier Reef.
These events join man-made damage, and widely threaten the continent’s biodiversity.
