Double morality: the celebrities who lecture on climate conservation, and harm it themselves Israel today

2022-07-20T12:52:38.880Z

Movie and music stars lecture on climate conservation and beyond veganism, but in practice they practice the exact opposite in their private lives • The list stars Mark Wahlberg, Beyonce, the Bahakam family and more

They are well-known celebrities, who use their power to lecture everyone on climate conservation, beyond vehicles on gas and beyond veganism.

They fly in their private jets, travel that can be done both by car, also in less time and with less flow of combustion materials and emissions into the environment.

The painful and annoying list is the result of the work of the website "Twitter handle @celebjets", which deals with exposing those who practice hypocrisy when flying in private jets, instead of by car or bus.

In any other option that is not a private plane the emissions to the atmosphere are less than such a flight, but this truth does not prevent them from lecturing everyone on sustainability and climate.

An example of this is actor and businessman Mark Wahlberg, who flew in his private jet for a total of 9 minutes to cross the city of Los Angeles.

Steven Spielberg also appears on the list after his plane flew a total of 17 minutes, a range that can be easily done in a vehicle with much less emissions to the atmosphere.

Kylie Jenner also stars on the site after flying a total of 12 minutes across California while her sister Courtney also arouses the wrath of environmental activists because of her unnecessary show flights on a private jet.

To explain the distortion it should be noted that flying in a private plane for 10 minutes causes an emission of a ton of carbon dioxide by a huge burning of fuel a combustion that would have been saved in a simple ride in a vehicle.

Lecturers and not internalizers

The site not only lists the celebrities but also details their statements about global warming versus their actual conduct.

For example in the case of Steven Spielberg, he has previously said he is scared and scared of global warming.

But this panic did not stop him from flying a private jet between Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

This is a flight that took him 17 minutes and would take him 36 minutes by car.

Another example is the singers GZ and Beyoncé who on the one hand call on the whole world to switch to a plant-based diet, and on the other hand the star flew alone in a private plane from Seattle to Eugene, a flight that took him 47 minutes.

Here, too, the site notes that the singer could have flown on a commercial flight with other people and thus saved a lot of polluting emissions into the air that are converted to four tons of carbon dioxide.

In a vehicle with a five-hour drive between the two sites, only 0.07 tons of carbon dioxide would be emitted into the air.

Stars in the sky

Also rapper Drake flew in his private jet 18 minutes between John Monroe Hamilton International Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada.

This is a road that could have been traveled by car for 45 minutes but he chose to use his plane.

This is when he simultaneously announced a start-up collaboration that is supposed to reduce human carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

Actor and businessman Mark Wallerberg also announced in 2020 that he was becoming a vegetarian, so he noted how good this transition feels to him and he removed the meat from the human diet for reducing environmental pollution.

He has also participated in films and publications on the subject.

But that did not stop him from flying in his private plane for only 9 minutes and a 19-mile flight when traveling in the same road vehicle with much less air emissions would have taken him 40 minutes.

And these are not the only stars who suffer from this type of voting: The list also stars the Beckham family, Harry Styles, Katie Perry, Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, who have all stated their concern for the climate and have flown flights for less than half an hour.
