Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi won a confidence vote in the Senate today, despite the refusal of three major parties in the ruling coalition to participate in the vote.
Reuters quoted a statement issued by the Senate as saying: "The vote was approved by 95 votes to 38, with dozens of senators abstaining."
Draghi submitted his resignation last week, but President Sergio Martella rejected it and asked him to appear before parliament to see if he could revive the broad coalition.
