At the end of the year, the city's electricity contract with the public utility company expires.

So there is a call for tenders.

The criteria for this have now been approved.

Fürstenfeldbruck

– Municipal properties, street lighting and the sewage treatment plant also need electricity to function.

Because the electricity supply contract with the public utility company ends at the turn of the year, electricity purchases must be reassigned from January 1st.

The tender criteria have now been approved in the Main and Finance Committee.

Until the final decision in the city council on July 26, the administration should improve some points again.

Jan Halbauer (Greens) wanted the tender to state that companies that operate nuclear power plants themselves or companies whose subsidiaries are involved in nuclear power plants are not eligible.

Alexa Zierl (ÖDP) urged that the tender text be specified again.

Especially in relation to the concept of renewable energy.

"You have to be careful about what's behind the label," says Zierl.

Otherwise it could happen that electricity is obtained from hybrid systems, i.e. systems that use conventional energy sources in addition to renewable energies.

The management's proposal provides for 100 percent of the electricity to be obtained from renewable energy sources.

These include wave, tidal, salt gradient and current energy, wind energy, solar radiation energy, geothermal energy and energy from biomass including biogas as well as landfill and sewage gas.

The contract period is set for three years.

The tender is divided into two lots.

One for the city properties, buildings and street lighting.

And one for the sewage treatment plant.

In order to ensure a regional supply - if possible again from the municipal utility - the new supplier must also be rooted locally.

This is guaranteed by a Fürstenfeldbruck local network number with a personal contact person.

Call centers do not meet this requirement.
