One person was killed and two others were injured when a toxic gas leaked at a water purification plant in Daegu, southeastern South Korea.
"The accident occurred at the Jokguk station and killed a worker in his sixties as a result of poisoning with hydrogen cyanide, which is very toxic and colorless," Yonhap news agency quoted the South Korean police as saying today, noting that two other workers were seriously injured while trying to save the victim.
The police are continuing their investigations to find out the cause of the accident.
