During the first half of this year, the technical workshops in the branch of the Syrian Telecom Company in Homs installed about 9,500 phone lines, in addition to about 5,000 internet gates.
And the director of the company’s branch in Homs, Eng. Kanaan Jouda, said in a statement to SANA reporter that due to the great demand for internet portals, efforts are constantly being sought in cooperation with the General Administration to supply the call centers with more internet portals, especially in city centers, pointing out that the branch’s engineers and technicians do not spare any effort to maintain The quality of communications and taking initiatives to take advantage of the available capabilities.
On the most important projects that are being implemented, Jouda said: We are serving a number of new subscribers within the “FTTH” project, where more than 150 subscriptions have been installed to date for economic activities in the city, pointing out that the “FTTH” service depends mainly on the technology of transmitting data and information through optical cables. To deliver the Internet to homes and offices at high speeds, targeting mainly economic activities, industrial cities, universities, government institutions, and small and large enterprises.
Juda pointed out that the project was launched in Al-Quwatli Center, where the equipment was installed and cable extension works began in the service areas in Dublan, Al-Hadara Street, Municipal Stadium Street and Al-Quwatli.
He added: During the current year, an optical access unit was established in Wadi El-Henna and a cable network was established for the villages of Al-Diba and Shamsin. The Internet equipment was expanded at Al-Zahraa Communications Center and new subscribers were served. Part of the Internet equipment was supplied to a number of centers in Wadi Al-Zahab, Al-Mahatta, Tal Kalakh, Shain, Talbiseh, Al-Rastan, and Dibbin. Completion of the supplies to be put into service. The work necessary to serve the Matriba border center was also completed in record time and with the efforts of the workers and technicians of the company’s branch in Homs.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Communications and Technology granted the branch of the Syrian Telecom Company in Homs an amount of 400 million Syrian pounds to complete its projects, expand its services, and rehabilitate a humiliating communication center.
