For long minutes, Lior and his children were stuck in the middle of the sea, with their ship completely sunk.
"The whole boat was filled with water and we started to sink," he recalled, "I pulled my little son, eight years old, put him on a mattress of a coop that fell. We survived death, we had a miracle."
The frightened family called the police from the heart of the sea and Sgt. Guy Kirson, commander of the Ashdod Navy Fin team, was called to rescue them. "Night lighting and we approached them, we called them to sign with their hands if they needed help and they marked with the phone."
With the help of light bombs, the Navy crew was able to get to the exact location of the family.
"The father was holding his little boy, the ship was completely sunk," Kirson recalled.
After video that the whole family was shirtless, they were given medical treatment.
"It was a matter of two or three minutes, it could have ended completely differently. They were in real exhaustion, with no means that could have saved them."
Lior, the father of the family, said that they organized the cruise in honor of the bar mitzvah of one of his children.
"We left the port of Ashdod for a cruise, after half an hour the boat stopped - within a minute the whole boat was filled with water. We dialed 100 and shouted 'we are stuck'.
MDA staff who were called to the scene following the report provided the family members with primary medical care and evacuated four of them - the father, 42, and his children: a 16-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy and an 8-year-old to Assuta Hospital in Ashdod.
