Geretsried conceded a 1:6 swatter in Holzkirchen.

Trainer Grelics: "Horrible Mistakes"

Holzkirchen/Geretsried – Three days after the 5-1 opening win against SE Freising, TuS Geretsried is back on the ground.

The Landesliga footballers returned home from the away game at TuS Holzkirchen with a 1:6 defeat.

"We never gave up," said the TuS coach, "but there were just too many mistakes."

Things got off to a good start for the guests.

After just two minutes, Holzkirchen keeper Lars Lewerenz had to get the ball out of the net.

To the delight of the Geretsried supporters, Srdan Ivkovic had placed the play equipment from a good 20 meters into the far corner for a 1-0 lead.

However, the response from the hosts was not long in coming: Despite a 2-1 majority on defence, a Holzkirchner attacker managed to pass the ball to his team-mate Tobias Seidl, who had no trouble alone in front of TuS goalkeeper Simon Voß, to equalize to 1:1 (6th).

A little later, Geretsrieder celebrated again, but referee Felix Brandstätter abruptly stopped TuS captain Sebastian Schrills' goal celebration - offside.

A clear wrong decision for Martin Grelics.

"But afterwards we made an incredible number of mistakes," admits the TuS trainer,

Ivkovic out after hitting the crossbar

A "hair-raising mistake in the game structure" and the subsequent lack of security on the defensive favored the Holzkirchner 2:1, for which Seidl was again responsible, as well as Florian Siebler's 3:1 lead at the break.

A few minutes after the restart, the Holzkirchner goal crossbar prevented the Geretsrieder goal from a shot by Ivkovic (55th) after a pass by Fabio Pech.

For Ivkovic, the game was over a little later.

"A precautionary measure," says Grelics, because the goalscorer had already started the game.

After the change of sides, the guests were "once again good on the trigger", as the coach stated.

Holzkirchen ended this phase with a perfect combination, which Seidl completed with the 4:1 after a fine interaction with Sean Erten.

A free kick that Pirmin Lindner sank directly from around 18 meters and a penalty goal by Christopher Korkor (after a foul by Ludwig Buchmair) made Holzkirchner's thrashing victory perfect.

Chalk the gates yourself

On a positive note from Geretsrieder's point of view, Mario Walker, who came on for Patriot Lajqi for the last 20 minutes, has postponed his announced time-out and will still be available to TuS for a while.

“This time we didn't have the luck that we had on Saturday.

We made incredible mistakes and Holzkirchen put that to good use,” admits Grelics.

"All goals, except for the 4:1, we have to chalk up ourselves."
