In the fight against the rampant shortage of staff, AfD boss Tino Chrupalla also wants to resort to Hartz IV recipients.
Berlin – The German airports are at the limit.
There is a labor shortage everywhere, resulting in long lines, canceled flights and frustrated travelers.
Airlines and airports are desperately looking for staff - but so far there is no rescue in sight.
Hartz IV: AfD boss sees the unemployed as a solution to the shortage of skilled workers
AfD co-boss Tino Chrupalla, on the other hand, considers the solution to the airport chaos problem to be extremely simple.
In the ARD online format "Ask yourself" he caused trouble with a statement about Hartz IV recipients.
When the topic of labor shortages and the immigration of skilled workers came up, the moderator said that Germans apparently just didn't want to do certain jobs anymore.
Chrupalla then replies: "We don't just have Germans in this country, we have 2.5 million Hartz IV recipients - so there will probably be someone there who can put the suitcases from the plane on the belt."
There will probably be someone there who can put the suitcases from the plane onto the assembly line.

Hartz IV recipients "mandatory"?
When the moderator then asked whether the unemployed should be “compulsorily conscripted”, Chrupalla evaded the question.
However, the direction in which his answer goes is clear.
He replies: "I am of the opinion that someone who receives non-cash benefits here also has to do something for it." The politician would like to see a performance principle.
So that would mean: Only those who perform well will also receive money.
Accordingly, Hartz IV recipients who do not work at all would not receive any money at all.
At the ARD summer interview, Tino Chrupalla also spoke about the airport chaos in Germany - and how Hartz IV recipients could be the solution.

This finally caused some angry comments on Twitter.
A user writes: “Chrupalla assumes in general that Hartz IV recipients would rest on a social hammock and could work.
Only many are in Hartz IV because of illness – he doesn't say that." Another is also annoyed by the statement and tweets: "What kind of nonsense is that, Mr.
Anyone who does nothing is worthless and has earned nothing?”
