100% success rate for students of the Institutes of Special Education for the Blind and Hope for Mobility Disabilities in basic education

Damascus, SANA- The success rate in the basic education certificate exams has reached the two institutes of special education for the rehabilitation of the blind

The success rate in the basic education certificate exams at the Institutes of Special Education for the Rehabilitation of the Blind and Hope for the Care of Persons with Mobility Disabilities in Damascus, affiliated with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, has reached 100 percent.

The Director of the Institute of Special Education for the Rehabilitation of the Blind, Nada Abu Al-Shamat, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the students who achieved the first three places in a row were Sidra Al-Shehabi with a total of 2,912 marks, Zainab Saqr with a total of 2,883 marks, and Marwa Muhammad with a total of 2,857 marks, noting that the Institute provides its students with all educational tools from paintings. Handwriting, illustrations and explanations for the blind, in addition to printing the curriculum in Braille.

Abu Al-Shamat pointed out that the institute is concerned with the practical aspect of the education process through the computer department, where students learn computer techniques and special applications that support the learning of the blind, such as speaking programs, noting that the institute includes a professional department concerned with training students in handicrafts.

In turn, Director of Al-Amal Institute for the Care of Persons with Mobility Disabilities Younis Abbas indicated that the students who achieved the first three places in the Basic Education Certificate are Hamza Abdel Rahman with a total of 2,844 marks, Abi Shaghl with a total of 2761 marks, and Amjad Murad with a total of 2743 marks.

Abbas explained that the institute receives people with a movement disability on both sides from the age of 6 to 18 who receive education according to the curricula of the Ministry of Education by specialized teachers, and the number of students at the institute reaches 153 students from different grades.

Regarding the institute’s departments, Abbas explained that it includes a section for learning difficulties, a room equipped with educational aids, a computer room, in addition to a theater for events and activities, and a gym, indicating that the institute provides physical treatment and psychological and social support for some cases by specialists from the Ministry of Health. Students are also transported to the institute by buses equipped for this. Purpose with supervisors and escorts to help them.
