Harvested at the cost of his life: the person killed in the sinkhole disaster in the private pool in Kermi Yosef is 30-year-old Khalil Kimchi from Kfar Saba.

Kimchi lived in Tel Aviv in recent years.

According to his Facebook page, Kimchi studied at Reichman University in the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.

He celebrated his last birthday on May 20 this year.

At the beginning of the year he wrote in one of the posts: "Who am I without my title? Who am I without my achievements or successes? Who am I without my job? Who will you be if one day you wake up in the morning and all of these are taken away from you?"

This morning (Thursday) Kimchi was killed in the unusual incident in the lowlands.

A sinkhole opened in a private pool in the yard of a house in the settlement.

A party was held there.

Two people were swept into it, one was rescued and the other was considered missing.

After many hours, the rescue forces, which included the police, fire brigade and the Home Front Command, managed to locate his body inside the sinkhole.

An inspection shows that the pool, which has existed for 20 years, did not have a building permit.

The owners of the house were arrested for questioning on suspicion of negligence.

The director of the Geological Institute, Professor Zohar Gebirtzman, explained how such a disaster could occur: "What causes these sinkholes is human error or a malfunction related to the work of humans and not to something natural. I can say that most of the country is completely stable."
