2022-07-21T11:59:46.091Z

Israel Railways announced changes to the lines from this coming Sunday until Saturday night • Combat soldier: "Soldiers will be crowded, it's just a nightmare" • Soldier serving in the Golan Heights: "I have no way to get to the base"

According to the train traffic:

Temporary and significant changes in the train traffic on the shoreline (Haifa - Binyamina - Hadera - Tel Aviv) will be made starting this coming Sunday. For many soldiers and workers commute by train.

The train lines will operate split between long destinations such as Nahariya-Beer Sheva, Nahariya-Modi'in, Carmiel-Beer Sheva and Binyamina-Beer Sheva.

The Israel Railways announcement states that "the date of the works is set in advance for the summer months, during which there is a natural reduction in the number of trips."

The train also said that the Eastern Railroad project (due to which the AG breaks) will constitute another axis between the northern and central and southern areas, and will enable a significant improvement of the train service throughout the country.

This, along with a significant increase in cargo transportation that will reduce road congestion and air pollution, and increase road safety.

Soldiers will be dragged along the roads

A combat soldier who spoke with "Israel Today" and harshly criticized the conduct of the Israel Railways: "It should be understood that splitting the line in the middle of the road is a significant thing for a soldier who needs to take another bus in Be'er Sheva to continue his journey. There are train delays. Now when it is necessary to travel between different train stations from the north, it means an extension of the time spent at the stations.

"Of course it is possible to travel by bus from a tunnel to the south, but there are few lines and the pressure is huge on every bus. Soldiers are crammed with their bags between passengers and it is a real nightmare," she said.

A soldier serving in the Golan Heights expressed in a conversation with "Israel Today" a huge anger on the train: "There is no convenient transportation to the Golan, and when the train does not consider soldiers traveling home on Sundays and Thursdays, it is a nightmare. Could not reduce work to Monday and beyond? "As a soldier who comes from the center to the Golan Heights several times a week as part of my job, it's just a hard blow. I do not want to think about what civilians will do who travel by train every day. Will they take a vacation?"
