An An's other half, Jia Jia, said goodbye about six years earlier and left her "loved in the world". Her biological tissues and bones were used for veterinary education and research purposes, and her ashes were long buried in the soil of her former residence in the garden.
The park has yet to disclose the details of An An's body disposal. Whether the two giant pandas can be "buried together" is still unknown.
