A Ballermann hit has triggered an unusually large amount of excitement: for some »Layla« is sexist, for others the perfect soundtrack for the party summer.

Since the city of Würzburg banned the song from a folk festival, the debate has escalated.

Suddenly, even conservative politicians and the media are defending the »poof mama« and are talking about »cancel culture«.

Producer Ikke Hipgold sees no less than a threat to freedom in Germany.
