Syrian government media reported that Russia's air defense systems shot down two offensive drones in the warm base area of the Latakia region last night (Wednesday).
According to the Sana network, Russia's defense systems repulsed a drone attack by "terrorist organizations in Idlib", meaning the attack is attributed to militia of the Syrian opposition.
A senior Syrian military official said that the organizations were continuing their attempts to attack the warm base in the drones. He further noted that the base was functioning normally and there were no casualties in the attack.
According to Syrian government media reports, in recent years air defense systems have repelled dozens of drone strikes carried out by opposition organizations in the Latakia and Idlib regions.
