Adolescents see their room as much more than accommodation, for them it is an "escape room".

Adolescent children require more privacy and personal space to independently deal with challenges such as identity acquisition, physical and mental skills, and new social interests.

The desire for privacy and time to be alone with themselves is part of the development and transformation from adolescent to adult and therefore we will also find them more hidden in their room.

Adolescents have a different perspective on their room than adults, as they see it as not just a place to sleep but a kind of "escape room" from the world of demands and laws, a place where they are not ashamed to pour the new self and develop in their own incubator, with their own interests. .

"They have a design awareness and are up to date with all the trends, looking for sophistication along with their evolving independence, but still clinging to childhood. They see in their room a mini-apartment where they will want to spend comfortably and calmly and uninterrupted, whatever its size. Lessons, entertaining friends, sleeping and relaxing - when it all looks good, not too busy, energetic to the extent that of course, reflects their personality. This is why designing a room for a teenager should help them sort out their loves and preferences, maintain their privacy and allow them space in one space Designed and harmonious, "explains architect Ron Spiegel.

We peeked into some designer teen rooms, and the thought behind them.

The house in Shoham is part of a two-family home, where a couple plus 3 children live, two of whom are teenagers.

The family wanted to move on to a spacious private home.

The plot is 418 square meters, and the house covers 280 square meters built.

This is a 25 year old house that needed massive planning and renovation.

The couple realized its potential, even though its shape and construction were in very poor condition.

The upper floor was divided in favor of two children's rooms.

Each room has an en-suite toilet and shower.

In the attic, a spacious room was designed for the adolescent child, which includes a seating area, an en suite bathroom and a large balcony.

A private house in the village of Oranim, where a couple and their two children live, growing up and after the army.

One of them is a musician who plays and creates and it was important to create for him a private and intimate area in a double space, which will meet the needs of reading, learning and music.

The designer Keren Niv Toledano needed solutions at a functional and aesthetic level to make the use precise and give a pleasant feeling.

She took advantage of the height of the double space to create a gallery to which one ascends with the help of an iron ladder.

The lower and everyday space includes a bed, a sideboard, a desk, a closet and even a record area, and the upper space serves as a cheap corner and is intended for creating and recording music.

For this purpose, the walls have a double wall of gypsum for good acoustics, acoustic sponge upholstery in the walls, integral speakers and extensive use of textiles and curtains to absorb noise.

Like many families today, the couple who built this house in Afula - 340 square meters on one level - asked his daughters for large and spacious rooms that would look like and meet all their needs: a bed and a half (1.20 meters), closet, library and desk, without creating a cluttered look. The three children's rooms are in their own wing, separate from the parents' wing, and a shared bathroom that can be entered through a private door from each room. Although the size of the children's rooms is larger than standard but not huge, Of the bed in the center of the wall, with wallpaper on the back, which gives a feeling of airiness, flow and maturity, as well as the creation of a niche for the closet, and inside it is placed a library with a desk.
