A girl died and 16 people were injured when a passenger bus collapsed on the Damascus-Homs highway, near the Maaloula bridge in Damascus countryside.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that the (Pulman) bus deteriorated before the Maaloula Bridge about three kilometers towards Damascus, which led to the death of a girl and the injury of sixteen people, according to preliminary information.
The ministry indicated that the patrols of the Damascus Countryside Traffic Branch attended immediately, and the injured were taken to a hospital, and the road was diverted to the second lane to remove the effects of the accident.
The Ministry renewed its call on drivers to inspect the vehicle's readiness, conduct a periodic technical inspection of it, exercise caution and caution while driving, abide by the signs and speed limits on the roads, and not use the mobile phone while driving in order to ensure their safety and the safety of road users.
