China affirmed that it pursues a defense policy aimed at safeguarding its sovereignty, security and vital interests, in addition to its commitment to the path of peaceful development.
Commenting on Japan's accusations against China of threatening international security, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a press conference today, "We urge the Japanese side to immediately stop the wrong practice of exaggerating threats to the security around it," expressing his country's dissatisfaction and strong opposition to Japan's stances while making protests. Severely worded to the Japanese side in response to the recent accusations.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman explained that the Diaoyu Islands and its affiliated islands have been China's territory since ancient times, and that his country's maritime activities in the waters of these islands are a legitimate exercise of its sovereign rights, and the Taiwan issue is an internal matter, and Beijing does not accept any interference from any external forces in this file.
The Japanese government issued the 2022 Defense White Paper, which considers China to be a "security concern for the region and the international community."
