Inspection officers caught a serial sexual offender who was previously convicted of serious cases when he visited the Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem • He was released from prison in 2018 and lives on the street

The Shavas' "Zur" unit led to the arrest of one of Israel's most dangerous sex offenders, thanks to an undercover operation that lasted about 48 hours.

A very dangerous sex offender, Dar Rehov, a resident of Abu Gush, serving repeated prison terms for serious crimes, was released from his last prison in 2018.

Since his release, he has been in and out of treatment settings under the close supervision of the 'Tzur' unit.

About two days ago he was kicked out of the hostel.

The inspection officers began a complex and comprehensive covert operation that lasted about 48 hours in order to arrest him and put him behind bars.

The inspection officers followed him yesterday to the Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital, where they arrested him after committing a criminal offense and attempting an indecent act.

The Minister of Internal Security, Omer Bar Lev, commented on the incident and said: "Quick, important and life-saving action by the 'Zur' unit

in the prison service. It is horrifying to think what would have happened if the same sex offender had managed to move around freely, and tried to continue his dangerous actions.

"Tzur" of the prison service is at the forefront of the all-important fight against sex crimes, and yesterday we received evidence of this."
