The Cologne-Dellbrück animal shelter continues to fight for the lives of the cute shepherd puppies.

Now there is a ray of hope: Little Bärbel is healthy again.

Cologne – The little shepherd siblings Poldi and Bärbel have seen a lot in their short lives.

Because the two puppies and their seven siblings were secured by the veterinary office.

The reason: bad posture.

The cute fur noses were initially accommodated in the Cologne-Dellbrück animal shelter.

Actually, the little German Shepherd puppies should be placed in a loving home from there.

But instead, Bärbel and eight of her siblings fell ill, as reported by 24RHEIN.

The animal shelter is sure of the long-term consequences of poor posture.

Only little Poldi was still fit.

Everyone else had to go to a special clinic in Duisburg.

The reason: parvovirus – dog disease.

Despite intensive treatment and sometimes several surgeries, five of the eight puppies died.

Now, however, there is good news, as the Cologne-Dellbrück animal shelter reports: Because on Tuesday, July 19, “the Asterlagen veterinary clinic called to say that the first puppy was so stable again that we could pick it up.

Welcome back, Bärbel,” the animal shelter says in an Instagram post.

So little Poldi is finally no longer alone.

In addition, the animal shelter posts a sweet video of Bärbel, who sits on the arm of a caregiver, wagging her tail and looking at the camera with her googly eyes.

"She's eating again and has very good digestion again," says the nurse in the video.

But the situation in the Cologne-Dellbrück animal shelter is not yet completely relaxed: because two other siblings of Poldi and Bärbel are still in the animal clinic and are fighting for their lives.

"Please continue to keep your fingers crossed for the two," said the shelter.

Another problem: The animal shelter expects a high animal hospital bill because of the German Shepherd puppies.

That's why the animal shelter has already started a call for donations: "If one or the other of you has a euro left for Poldi and his friends, we would be very happy," said the animal shelter recently.
