An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit the port of Khmer on Qeshm Island, Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, without reports of injuries or material damage.
"The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers from the surface of the earth," the Iranian Seismological Center said in a statement today, IRNA reported.
On the fifth of this month, a 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Kermanshah province, western Iran.
