Two regimental combat teams of the Russian Airborne Forces were captured in the Kherson district and asked Kiev for an evacuation corridor • The Ukrainians demand that the force surrender and target one of the key bridges to the district with precision missiles

Media in Ukraine reported today (Saturday) a great achievement for the Ukrainian counterattack in the south of the country and the capture of an elite force of the Russian army in a cordon in Kherson district.

According to the report, which was also transmitted in the media in Russia and military Telegram channels in the country, two battalion combat teams of the Airborne Air Force of the Russian Army were killed near the village of Vysokopalya in the north of Kherson province.

The size of the force is extended by about a thousand soldiers of the elite unit.

Yesterday it was reported that the force tried to break through the encirclement but was pushed back to its positions.

It was reported in the Ukrainian media that the Russian force contacted the Ukrainian command and asked to be given a "green corridor" for an orderly withdrawal from the area, but the Ukrainians refused to allow it.

Oleksi Arstovich, a security adviser to President Zelensky, told the country's media that the Ukrainian army demands that the Russians lay down their weapons and surrender.

In addition, during the past week, the Ukrainians bombed the Antonovsky Bridge, one of the two bridges over the Dnieper River, connecting the Russian occupation forces in Kherson province with the Russian rear.

The bridge was closed for repairs and now the Russian army fears that it will not be possible to deliver supplies to the forces in Kherson province.

The bridge was not destroyed but was significantly damaged by fire from long-range missiles.

The latest reports come after months of speculation about a significant counterattack by the Ukrainian army on the southern front, where Russia maintains a relatively thin military presence, due to the Russian effort to concentrate forces on the Donbass front.

In the last two weeks, Ukraine has increased the firing of precision missiles provided to it by the United States at headquarters, ammunition depots and air defense systems in the Kherson region, and according to various reports, with great success.

Yesterday, John Kirby, the spokesman for the US National Security Council, announced that his country would increase aid to Ukraine. Today, the president provided Ukraine with a new package of weapons, which includes four more Hymaras launchers that the Ukrainians have used very effectively to date. In total, Ukraine will be provided with a package About another $270 million in aid. This brings the total aid the US has provided to Ukraine to $8.2 billion.

Kirby also added: "Russia continues to attack civilian targets and kill innocent Ukrainian citizens. We will continue to support Ukraine as much as necessary and there will be more aid packages. We welcome the agreement signed regarding the export of grain from Ukraine, and we congratulate UN Secretary General Guterres and Turkish President Erdogan for The mediation.

"Russia used food as a weapon, as they did with energy. They stole grain and agricultural equipment from Ukraine and prevented the export of food to the world. We expect partial implementation of the agreement, but the devil is in the details," said the official.
