Tartous-Sana
The hall of the Arab Cultural Center in Tartous hosted a ceremony to announce the National Forum for Syrian Creativity (Mawasem) with the aim of promoting cultural work and highlighting the national cultural experiences, skills and talents to reach the establishment of a cultural project that contributes to the development of the current reality.
The publicity ceremony, which was held in the midst of an official and literary presence and those interested in cultural affairs, included the presentation of literary paragraphs, poetry and prose by the writers Nahla Younes, Ali Hassan, Shawki Hamdan and the two young talents, Tala Muhammad and Firas Asaad, in addition to a solo performance on the oud by Mahmoud Youssef and a lyrical piece by the band Joseph Samaan.
The director of culture in the governorate, Kamal Badran, pointed out in his statement to reporters that the forum comes within the framework of organizing cultural work from the civil side, after the issuance of new regulations regarding the licensing of forums and technical teams, so that the National Forum for Syrian Creativity would be the first of these forums in Tartous, where it was originally licensed by the Ministry of Culture.
The head of the forum’s board of directors, writer Ghassan Wannous, confirmed in a statement to SANA that the idea of the forum was launched at the initiative of intellectuals and those interested in cultural affairs to set up their own gathering within the framework and directions of the Ministry of Culture, pointing out that his field of work will not be limited to Tartous governorate and that its work will include all segments of society and various Cultural, literary and artistic activities such as evenings, meetings, lectures, and others.
