Joe Biden's voice sounds a little hoarse.

Nevertheless, the US President, who is infected with Corona, makes a very fit impression – and confirms this directly himself. For the first time since his Covid 19 infection became known, Biden spoke at a public appointment from domestic isolation.

"I feel a lot better than I sound," he said at the beginning of a virtual meeting with his business team, which he joined from the White House, on Friday afternoon (local time).

The meeting discussed gas prices, among other things.

"There's good news," Biden said.

Gas prices have fallen, and have been for more than 30 days in a row.

The 79-year-old Biden had tested positive for the corona virus on Thursday.

He continues to run the affairs of state from his isolation.

His spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre and White House Corona Coordinator Ashish Jha assured at a press conference that Biden's symptoms remain mild and that he is doing better.

17 contact persons were identified and informed after the infection became known.

Biden says he continues to work eight hours or more a day.

He also wanted to remind Americans to continue to take the pandemic seriously and get vaccinated.

Increased temperature, runny nose and fatigue

Presidential Physician Kevin O'Connor had previously announced that the US President's treatment was proceeding satisfactorily.

"His symptoms have improved," said a letter released by the White House.

Biden had had a slightly elevated temperature the night before, but it dropped again after treatment with acetaminophen.

The US President also continues to have a runny nose, feels tired and occasionally coughs.

His levels are normal.

Biden is still being treated with the Covid 19 drug Paxlovid.

Biden has been vaccinated against Covid-19 several times.

The President reportedly received his last booster shot at the end of March.
