Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned against attempts by Western countries to turn Montenegro and North Macedonia into tools in their anti-Russian game, similar to what they did in Ukraine.
“There is a clear difference between the feelings of Montenegrin and Macedonian citizens towards Russia and what Brussels, the European Union and NATO are forcing politicians there to do, this is an attempt to make them a tool in the anti-Russian game,” Lavrov said in an interview published on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website. It fed in the past anti-Russian sentiment in those regions.
Lavrov explained that this is the same thing they tried to do in Ukraine.
