For around 150 youth firefighters, a very special mission begins this Saturday.
County/St.
Wolfgang - It will not only be the longest of her young career, but also her most enduring one - a service to society that shows that the volunteers are more than just putting out fires and helping people in need.
At the same time it is an advertising campaign for the youth fire brigade.
The district youth fire brigade organized a 48-hour project marathon that included seven actions distributed across the entire district.
The ideas were conceived together with the mayors.
The initiators are district youth director Martin Kowalski from Isen and his deputy Sandra Schumertl from Hörlkofen.
She came up with the idea in Austria and imported it to Erdinger Land.
The Finsing youth fire brigade is building two book boxes by Sunday evening - one on the playground at Neufinsing town hall and one on the playground in Finsing.
Young bookworms in particular should be able to exchange literature here anonymously and free of charge.
The comrades from Isen will prepare the old linden tree in the town center and thus maintain a monument that was planted over 1000 years ago to mark the founding of the market.
The youth fire brigade Schwindkirchen will be active in the forest kindergarten, will build a table with a bench there, pave a square for it, plant berry bushes and protect them with a fence, create a path made of bark mulch and design and set up a sign to identify the group of forest bunnies.
The fire brigade youth from Maria Thalheim, Fraunberg and Reichenkirchen would like to refurbish the old hunting lodge of the municipality of Fraunberg and renew the old Taubenkobel.
The young firefighters from St. Wolfgang work as carpenters.
He builds wooden seating sets that are set up at the kindergarten and retirement home in St. Wolfgang.
In Hörlkofen, an insect hotel is being built at the village pond.
The youth fire brigade in Eitting also practices sustainability at its own fire station by planting three apple trees.
The young people should learn how to deal with food and appreciate nature.

Youth wardens and commanders have already been busy: They not only developed the campaigns with the mayors, but also organized accommodation, food, material and machines.
A jury will determine the best projects over the summer holidays.
The award ceremony will take place on October 15th as part of the district fire brigade day in St. Wolfgang.
The winner will receive 500 euros for the youth fund.
The junior firefighters only found out which project they were tackling on Friday afternoon.
Each participant received a T-shirt, which is also a reminder of a very unusual commitment.
