"Everyone passed - that's not something to be taken for granted," said Moosburg's junior high school principal, Wolfgang Korn, happily when he was able to present 124 graduates with their certificates on Friday.

Moosburg

– Yesterday “a long journey came to an end” for 124 graduates of the Kastulus-Realschule Moosburg, as school spokeswoman Magdalena Schwaiger (10e) emphasized.

Now everyone plunges into “new adventures”.

They all have high school diplomas in their luggage.

The "Kastulus-Realschule Moosburg trip" began six years ago - "the offer was very promising," recalled student representative Magdalena Schwaiger.

People weren't always enthusiastic about the travel destinations - the word "educational trip" had apparently been overlooked in the small print, she explained humorously.

But now the big goal has been reached - "with many precious memories" in the luggage.

"Now let's embark on a new adventure," said the graduate and wished everyone a "bon voyage in life".

"Street marathon" mastered with flying colours

Vice President Michael Wagensohner compared this trip to a "road marathon": He recalled the qualification six years ago, "well-developed routes", "potholes" and how "Corona turned the road marathon into an obstacle course".

Thanks to very good trainers (teachers) and marshals (parents), everyone has now reached the goal.

"The next marathon will start soon," said Wagensohner, for whom he wished the students all the best.

Around 550 guests came to the closing ceremony in the Stadthalle Moosburg and listened to the various cultural contributions and the speeches on the occasion of the farewell to 124 schoolchildren.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.

"Today opens many doors for you that lead into the future," Vice District Administrator Anita Meinelt told the graduates.

And she is convinced: "You are well prepared for the time after school".

Graduation is a “springboard into life”

Moosburg's mayor, Josef Dollinger, also knows that graduating from school is "a stepping stone into life".

He encouraged the young people to be courageous and curious: “Take the leap into life.” Even more: “Your knowledge, your skills, your curiosity and your commitment are needed in our society.

Take responsibility, question yourself critically and try to find your own solutions to problems.

We need you and your idea.

You are the future of our city and our country.”

Principal Wolfgang Korn paid tribute to the graduates, who, after mostly six years of school and the corona pandemic, have made a "brilliant final sprint".

"Everyone passed - that's not to be taken for granted," he praised.

His final appeal to the school leavers: "Go out and win hearts." And: "Don't forget your secondary school."

Social commitment also important later

Ulrike Reichelt, Chairwoman of the Parents' Council, emphasized that social commitment is important in addition to school performance.

And as tutors, mediators, school paramedics and members of the student council or the "School Without Racism" group, many young people have shown social commitment in recent years.

Her request to the students: “Continue to support such social projects.

Don't become selfish and don't look away.

Raise your voice, stay on the right path.” Finally she said: “The end of your school days here in Moosburg is also the beginning of a new path.

Take the opportunities that are offered to you.”

Then the big moment had come: the young people from the fifteenth grades received their certificates from their class teachers and said goodbye to “their” school.

The various musical contributions provided a worthy framework for the three-hour celebration in the Moosburg town hall: the brass band Kastulus-Brass played big, the school band rocked the stage, and the Kastulus-Voices choir delighted the around 550 guests who had come.

Honoring the best in school

The school's best were also honored - "all girls", as rector Wolfgang Korn emphasized:
