Yulia's mother said in her testimony to the police that the horrific murder struck her with total astonishment.

The family members of 22-year-old Liana Savanuk are having a hard time digesting her horrible murder, allegedly committed by her father Alexander in the apartment in Beit Shemesh where his ex-wife Yulia, his daughter Liana and his 17-year-old son lived.

Allegedly, after stabbing his daughter Liana to death, Alexander took his own life.

Yulia, the grief-stricken mother, who was in the north yesterday at the time of the murder, said in her testimony to the police that the horrific murder struck her with complete astonishment and stated that she did not believe that her ex-husband was capable of such a shocking act.

She added that there were no previous signs that could have taught about Alexander's intentions.

Yulia said during her testimony that the father contacted their son yesterday and told him to come to the apartment.

The son did not arrive and it is possible that this saved his life.

The mother apparently tried to contact her daughter Liana and when she did not answer, she asked her son to go to the apartment.

He was horrified to discover the bodies of his sister and father and hurried to call the rescue forces.

The mother stated in her testimony that about a year ago Alexander threatened to harm himself and was hospitalized in a psychiatric institution.

He also had cases of drug use.

The bodies of Liana and her father Alexander were sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine to collect additional findings about the tragic murder that took place on Saturday morning in Beit Shemesh.
